After she conquered Paris a decade ago with her boutique Concept Ethnic, Aline Matsika decided to bring her unique mosaic of styles to the heart of Soho, New York prime destination for fashion and furniture.
In a vast loft like space, Mosaic introduces you to a world of cultural diversity in the form of African pieces and French furniture, including the contemporary and antique.
The combination of cultures brings a new poetry to interiors: here one finds unique furniture such as Louis XVI chairs covered with antique Kuba cloth (from Zaire) and 1930’s armchairs covered with Senagalese cotton-and-raffia.
Pointing to rarity, one also finds 2000-year-old Noc sculptures from Nigeria and more contemporary art works such as white-faced Punu masks from Ivory Coast.
