 - Founded by Marius Ernest Sabino [1878-1961]
- 1920's - 1930's was among the art deco glass makers like Rene Lalique, Etling, Hunebelle, D'Avesn, Verlys and Jobling.
- One of two glass companies that where important - Lalique and Sabino.
- 1878 Marius Sabino was born in Sicily
- Moved to France while a young boy.
- Father was a sculptor of wood.
- His father gave him early training.
- Studied at L'Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs and the Beaux Arts de Paris.
- Was interested in how electricity would effect glass manufacture.
- After the World War he started a factory for the manufacturer of light fittings of wood and bronze but changed to glass.
- Used poured glass put into molds.
- created enormous glass chandeliers.
- 1925 Created an opalescent glass with a blue hue and iridescent
- 1927 Created special lighting for luxury liner the isle de France
- 1935 Created a glass fountain for the Grand Salon of Normandy.
- Created vases and decorative objects.
- Designes were often busts and statues of women and a range of animals.
- 1931 Created a large fish in a limited edition, two of which were bought by Josephine Baker and Maurice Chevalier.
- Vases and plates he used natural themes, often with animals (particularly aquatic creatures) along with friezes of women and some geometric designs.
- 1936 Commissioned to produce all the electric lights fittings and chandeliers for the shah of Persia.
- 1937 Displayed at the Exposition Universal (designed an illuminated column).
- 1941 Continued production of existing designs but did not design any new pieces.
