Description:

19th century French Palissy ware Longchamp Terre de Fer oval wall plate with colorful applied fish, snake, frog, crayfish and butterfly on mottled ground. Fully marked and pierced back for hanging.
Longchamp near Dijon, France made Palissy ware with it's own distinctive somewhat impressionistic painted grounds and coloring in the 1860's and 1870's. Not all pieces are marked but they are identifiable stylistically.
